Design Highlight: A seamless relationship between architecture, interiors and landscape
Nestled among towering Douglas firs with filtered views of Oswego Lake, the Southshore project began as a modest mid-century ranch and was reimagined through a full-scale renovation and rebuild. The intent was to create a home that felt deeply connected to its setting—quiet, grounded, and responsive to the surrounding landscape.
Embracing principles of minimalism and wabi-sabi, the design balances openness with intimacy. Natural materials, thoughtful proportions, and a restrained palette allow light, texture, and the outdoors to take center stage. The result is a home that feels expansive yet serene, offering a calm, intentional retreat rooted in place.
Designed as a quiet counterpoint to its natural surroundings.
